Description: The Hava-Chon is a hybrid breed, mixed with Bichon Frise and a Havanese. These small dogs have double coats that can be silky, curly, dense, long or short come in a variety of colors. Hava-Chon dogs are described best as loving, loyal and family-friendly.

Temperament: Hava-Chon dogs are energetic, playful and loyal to their owners. They are a fan of being the center of attention and thrive while they are by their owner’s side. They are sweet and become a crowd favorite instantly.
With Children: This breed has a very friendly nature which makes them popular with children.
With Pets: Hava-Chon dogs are very good with other pets. They enjoy trips to the dog park and beach, interacting with other breeds all the while.
Watch-dog: This breed will be wary around strangers but alert to unusual noises, making them a good watchdog.
Guard-dog: Due to their petite size, this breed would not be a successful guard dog.
Care and Training: Hava-Chon are considered hypoallergenic, meaning they do not shed much. They do, however, need to be brushed two to three times a week and a trim every six weeks. Daily teeth cleanings are recommended and their ears should be checked weekly for dirt, wiped with a damp towel. When it comes to training, this breed is described as loyal and attentive. Hava-Chon dogs should be socialized with other dogs and people as young as possible.

History: The Hava-Chon is mixed with a Bichon Frise and a Havanese. These dogs are sometimes referred to as the Cuban Velcro dog, due to their tendency to stay glued to their owner. Since this hybrid breed is new, its history can be told through its parent breeds. The Havanese is a toy breed and the national dog of Cuba. It is a member of the Bichon family, believed to have been developed crossing the Blanquito de la Habana with other Bichon types. The Blanquito de la Habana are now extinct but there is speculation that all Bichon dogs can be traced back to the Teneriffe dog who arrived in Cuba on ships. The Spanish gravitated to these dogs because of their cute appearance and strong build.
