Description: Bull Puggles consider the English Bulldogs, Pugs and Beagles to be its parent breeds. These small-frame, friendly in nature dogs are considered a new breed that has become popular in the past 20 years. Physically, Bull Puggles are known for their short coats, petite size and their slightly pushed in Pug face.

Temperament: The Bull Puggle breed is described as loving, friendly and alert. These dogs are happiest by their owner’s side on the couch but also love going outside to socialize with other dogs. Bull Puggles are known to be patient with young children and are considered an ideal family dog for first-time owners. As long as you shower them with love and attention, your Bull Puggle will be happy. With Children: This breed gets along very well with children. They’re very protective of their owners and the family they come from. This breed can be trusted around kids of all ages. With Pets: Bull Puggles are friendly by nature and love the idea of being part of a pack, which is why they thrive in the company of other dogs.
Watch-dog: Being alert is a big part of the Bull Puggle personality. They will bark when something or someone new approaches them or their owner, making this breed a solid watch-dog.
Guard-dog: While they are the first to alert their owner of potential danger, this breed’s petite size is the reason they are not a successful guard dog.
Care and Training: Bull Puggles are requires to get brushed frequently and only given baths when needed. For their overall health, owners should bring this breed on long walks and hikes to burn off excess energy. It is recommended to give this dog breaks during long exercises to avoid overheating. When it comes to training, Bull Puggles learn best with short, daily sessions filled with a lot of movement. The more exercise this breed does, the better training will go.

History: A breed like Bull Puggles have become increasingly popular in the past 20 years. Their history is largely based on that of their parent breeds: English Bulldogs and Puggles. The Bulldog breed became mainstreamed in 1500, when they were used in a vicious sport called bullbaiting. The breed was developed in England and eventually, the breeds’ birthplace became part of its name. Pugs have a long history of existence, going back to 551 BC. Originating in China, Pugs were bred to be companions of the rich. In the breed’s infancy, Pugs would live in luxury. Some were guarded by soldiers at the request of their owners. Beagles originated in ancient Greece around the 5th century BC. The breed became favorites of well-known historical figure like Queen Elizabeth I, who favored the dogs for their small size and entertaining nature. Reverend Phillip Honeywood started a Beagle pack in Essex England in the 1830’s. Historians believe this pack formed the basis for the modern Beagle breed.
